Pod casting

A workshop was given in one of the TESOL conferences about using pod casting in teaching English. However, I did not pay much attention to using it in ESL settings. Quoting Wikipedia, a podcast is: A podcast (or non-streamed web cast) is a series of digital media files (either audio or video) that are released episodically and often downloaded through web syndication. According to Wikipedia the term is derived from Ipod+ broadcasting which suggests using Ipod in viewing pod casts. However, they say the correct term is netcast because it does not suggest any gadgets.
I started to know one of the tools of Podcasting when I started ECI 831 taught at the University of Regina which is RSS. I think this is a great tool.
I’ve just found great pod casts websites on ITunes … I am over thrilled to find that I subscribed in many using my old mate ITunes program. If you want to find out more about pod casting and ITunes go to this link
